2026's Annual general meeting of the Sea Wolf Water Polo club was held on Thursday 30 April in the St Cuths classroom & online. Thank you to all of you who attended in person & online.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Anna Knight for her many years of committee contribution and look forward to her continued involvement in our Sea Wolf community and wider volunteer roles.

Chair’s Report for 2025

As we reflect on 2025, Sea Wolf Water Polo Club continues to grow as a strong and connected community, driven by the collective effort of our players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and supporters.

A key highlight is the breadth of our participation. We have teams competing across the full spectrum, from U12s in Tauranga through to our men’s and women’s teams in the National League. This reflects the strength of our pathways and an important principle for the club: a healthy system should not only produce great athletes, but also create an environment where people remain involved in the sport over time, including beyond their playing careers.

We are pleased to welcome Jasmin as a new senior coach and look forward to the experience and leadership he brings to our programme.

This year also marks an important milestone in our governance, with the adoption of our updated constitution and this being our first AGM operating under the new framework. These changes ensure we remain aligned with the evolving requirements for incorporated societies, while also providing a clearer and more modern structure for how we operate as a club. As part of this, we are pleased to be able to welcome members attending online, supporting broader accessibility and engagement.

We continued our club prize giving this year, along with age grade photos for the first time. These initiatives are important in recognising achievement and strengthening our sense of community.

Our financial position is outlined in the Treasurer's Report, and we remain focused on maintaining a sustainable and well-managed club.

Sea Wolf remains actively engaged in the wider water polo community, contributing to ongoing conversations that support the development of the sport at both regional and national levels. Strong collaboration between clubs and organisations is essential to the long-term health of water polo, and we are committed to playing our part.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank the committee for their ongoing work throughout the year. In particular, thanks to Miranda and Aisling for their efforts across administration and financial management. With their support, we have strengthened our operational processes, including updates to our website and communications, helping to put in place systems that will endure over time.

As always, our success is driven by our people. The time, energy, and commitment contributed by our volunteers, coaches, officials, and families is what enables the club to function and thrive. It is this shared commitment that underpins everything we do.

In closing, thank you to everyone who has contributed to Sea Wolf in 2025. We look forward to continuing to build on this momentum and to providing a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment for all members in the years ahead.
